Personal tuition for all abilities

Personal tuition:

Flyreel

Fishing is a great way to spend your free time.  Lessons will be fun and tailored to your own needs. If you aren't sure that fishing is for you, I can fix up a 'taster' session, for individuals or small groups or families.

You can have one lesson or a series, and we can discuss the best time and place. What you learn will depend on whether you are a beginner, an 'improver', or an experienced angler.

Beginners:

I will supply all the fishing tackle needed for the lesson. Just make sure you have rubber boots, a hat and sunglasses or other form of protection for your eyes. The maximum group size is 4 adults or 2 children, and a parent or other responsible adult should accompany children. Lessons will usually last one or two hours, depending on group size and individual preference.

As we will be concentrating on getting you started, we will fish from the bank of a local pond, river or reservoir where the conditions are good for learning to cast.

Prices: Lessons cost 25 per hour for individual tuition. For group rates, please Contact me for information.

Intermediates:

You are probably at an intermediate level if you have done some fishing but feel a bit rusty, or perhaps you are familiar with coarse fishing and want to try something different. Before arranging a lesson, I will discuss your previous experience with you and we will tailor your tuition accordingly. You may want to learn a new way to cast or to improve your existing technique. You may also want to learn more about what lines and flies to use at different times.

Lessons will take place at a venue appropriate to your requirements, once we have talked them through. You may like to use your own fishing tackle but if not, I can supply what you need.

Lessons can range from a session on casting technique, to a full day trip trout fishing. For trips to catch salmon, see below.

Prices: Lessons cost 25 per hour for individual tuition. For group rates and trips, please Contact me for information.

Experienced anglers:

You will have been fishing for years, with some success. You may want to brush up your casting techniques, learn some new casts, or you might be interested in guided salmon fishing trips. When you contact me, we will discuss your requirements and decide on the most appropriate location.

During the year, according to demand, I am planning to run some trips to Scotland. These may last from 3 days to a week, and costs vary according to location and accommodation, which is usually in small hotels. I will organise accommodation, licences if needed, and ghillies. Prices will depend on where and when you want to fish. If you would like more information, please Contact me.
